Good day to everyone. Those who are not interested in spoilers and a common enough picture, I recommend reading my first game blog called “Fort Solis – Mark Road on manual brake”. Here I want to slightly spin the plot, which, in isolation from its implementation by the developers, is not the worst in the genre, albeit banal. It is difficult to spoil the plot of the game when there is no plot in the game. But I will try.

However, during its production, a series of strange diseases begins, which raises questions from a local doctor. Now he is tormented by vague doubts.

Despite the fact that the game has been stated in the game, judging by the well -fed pug of the protagonist – engineer Jack Lary (actor Roger Clark) – it was he who created it, after which he moved to Mars. There are no signs of starvation on his face even close. And the first thing he does (not without my participation, of course), falling on a dangerous object, which is under quarantine, is saying a bottle of chilled hoppy drink. Among the personnel of the mining base, no talk was found about a lack of power and hungry fainting. On the contrary, products at the interplanetary station, as the game shows, is enough for itself. Refrigerators are full of everyone, even beer. Thus, we understand that the real raw material disaster is still very far away. At the same time, the fact that scientists Fort Solis are looking for a solution to prevent a food disaster long before its appearance, does not raise questions. Make ahead of lead is quite logical.
Who is “SCI” and what is “fi”

Fort Solis is not good sci -fi, the maximum is tolerable, so we will not see the original interesting thoughts and ideas, but there are ideological cliches. A competent screenwriter to reveal his main idea introduces into the work of the character, whom the events of the plot are blown up and sometimes rewind, forcing to change their life philosophy or at least think about its imperfection. And Fort Solis has such a character that gives the game a plusik in karma. The nonsense is that this is an indefinite character, which is actually shown to us as an antagonist, and whose story is revealed for the most part only in the notes. Dr. Wyatt Taylor, about whom I talked above, is no doubt the main protagonist Fort Solis, through which we are brought by the very plot idea. He is the only one in the whole game who is really made by his life principles for the sake of a high, as it seems to him, goals. Its character is not statistical and changes during the narrative. The “main” heroes of Jack Lary and Jessica Appleton, oddly surprisingly, are just observers, just observers whose eyes are brought to us by someone else’s story.
Humanist maniac
From the video, audio and text records, we understand that the doctor at the time of arrival at the Martian base was not a crazy maniac or a cruel person with a craving for violence. On the contrary, he is an exemplary family man, madly loves his children and his wife, a good, responsible doctor and humanist who appreciates the life of every person. After the first suspicions of the presence of something abnormal in the ailment of employees, the doctor delved into additional medical studies. The fact that something extraordinary is happening to the crew, was too implicit and almost unprovable. The symptoms of the disease fit into the framework of signs of overwork and excessive radiation in connection with processing in conditions of increased level of radiation. Formally, initially everything was within the framework of the norm taking into account the specifics of working conditions. And there were not many victims. Studies of scientists, during which infection took place, were carried out with the level of secrecy, access to which the doctor did not have. Taylor had every reason to “wash your hands”, not pay attention to the problem and sit quietly, waiting for a vacation. But the doctor did not sit back, which also characterizes him in a certain way.
Splinter Cell in a medical dress
With the results of medical research and his arguments, he repeatedly “ran into” all possible instances, wrote reports, complaints, tried to convince the leadership and personnel of the base. However, he could not find the desired levers of influence in order to influence scientists, and he had too little evidence. And then he began already a full -fledged investigation, going beyond his authority. In this situation, both sides of the conflict can be understood, and the conflict is not highlighted. The task of scientists is to solve the upcoming global problem of mankind, which is closer every year. The doctor’s task is to identify the presence of a new type of disease, to transfer confirmed data to the Earth for further assessment and development of the medicine. Both the doctor and scientists, as it turns out during the plot, fight for the survival of humanity. Imagine what a spy novel could come out if the plot was revealed by the eyes of Dr. Taylor – a straight technological on Tom Clancy’s Testaments.
Suddenly Martian Hitman
Taylor understood that the threat of food disaster is a distant prospect, and an unknown disease spread directly before the eyes of an experienced doctor. Video, audio and text notes show us how a doctor- a person with high principles of humanism- turns into a cold-blooded killer, carrying death to all crew members. He selects the most optimal time – the season of Martian storms, when the number of crew members at the base is reduced to a minimum. All that is needed is to eliminate the barrier in the form of crew members, get evidence, present them to the public and, if possible, stop the disease at this stage. The minimum of victims for the sake of saving all humanity in stealth in the style of agent 47. But one of the crew members manages to give a short -term anxiety signal, which is captured by a nearby repair team of two people – part -time the main characters Fort Solis. A small failure in terms of a calculating killer by coincidence led to an even greater tragedy. It is from this moment that the real plot of the game begins, which the gamers show, leaving all the most interesting events and intrigues to the notes for notes.
Hero with a dumped roof
By the end of the game, the doctor’s plan was still fulfilled, albeit not like he wanted it. Taylor gave his life for his ideals, while finally lost the roof on this difficult path. However, he made everyone pay attention to the main threat of the fort Solis. And all fate played another sinister joke with him, which became worse than death. A lot earlier before these events, after the first successes of the scientists of the Fort Solis News about the 26 plants grown using the connection, reached the Earth. Connection 26 was considered safe, as well as the plant obtained with its help. For this reason, it was decided not only to send plant samples to the earthly laboratories, but even to allow them to send their teams to the families of the team – such a marketing move. So that earthlings know that the issue of the coming raw material catastrophe is already resolved, and knew who solved this issue.

One of those who sent these plants to Earth was Dr. Wyatt Taylor. His daughter really liked the beautiful indoor flower, which dad boasted during the video. And this flower, carrying an unidentified deadly disease, which the doctor has not even guessed, went to his family. The last video game screensaver shows us that Taylor after detecting signs of the disease sent his wife a warning message – “Do not open the contents!”. But it was too late. The ending hints to us that the infection begins to spread on the ground. From a short screensaver focused on the mentioned flower – other conclusions simply cannot be. Thus, in the bloody plan of Taylor at that time there was no sense. But he did not know about it and never know.
Dent dancing
A good story about the search for the smaller of evils on the eve of the Apocalypse, it seems to me, drowned in my own implementation. The whole intrigue is revealed from the first steps, while the authors have nothing more to tell. There is no stress and sappress in the game, like gameplay. Notes poorly reveal the motivation of the doctor, weakly outline the conflict and do not describe the essence and threat of an unknown disease at all. As a result, the entire load of the narrative of a science fiction work, paramedally, falls on the disclosure of the main characters of Jack Liri and Jessica Appleton. But there is no disclosure here, because in fact these are not the main characters. Yes, they are not deprived of a sense of humor. Yes, they have a certain spark in a relationship. But in general, these are ordinary, unremarkable engineers. But the character who could arouse interest- Wyatt Taylor- is pushed into the background of video, audio and text notes. Although it could be done, if not the main thing, then one of the main playable characters, adding the plot more intrigue.
And still I love you
As I already said in the last blog, I still liked the game, and I would even recommend trying the Fort Solis under a saucepan of a hungry malt drink, a glass of a funny tea -like tea or a cup of fermented dumplings, depending on your addictions. Provided that the cost of a “ticket” for the game session will be estimated according to the laws of cinema -theater rental – that is, by a very good discount. The salty fort definitely will not spoil the beer furrow – checked on itself. And this is even if all possible spoilers you have already been caught. If you like a meditative calm gameplay, if you like to look for the plot and Laura slices in the notes in the notes, if you like the atmosphere of a mundane Sci-Fi Adventure-all this is in the game, albeit an average level of quality.
